| Mr. John W. Kangas was appointed US Secretary of the International St. Lawrence River Board of Control on August 30, 1993. He is the Chief of the Great Lakes Regulation Section of the US Army Corps of Engineers' North Central Division. He directs staff support to the US Chairman of the St. Lawrence Board, as well as to the International Niagara Board of Control and the International Lake Superior Board of Control. Prior to his appointment as US Secretary, he provided staff support to the Great Lakes Boards of Control since 1978, and has participated on several International Joint Commission studies. He has bachelor's and master's of science degrees in Civil Engineering. |
